THE SOUTHSIDE - SOUTHSIDE Symphony

From 11 July to 28 August, THE SOUTHSIDE will host the “SOUTHSIDE Symphony”, a remarkable fusion of vinyl music experiences, live DJ performances and bazaar booths. Attendees will have the chance to explore a rare collection of vinyl records, creating a midsummer art and music extravaganza. This unique symphony is composed of four distinct sections, inviting everyone to experience music from multiple perspectives.

Vinyl Music Experience Zone

It is equipped with an automatic jukebox and several stylish photo spots themed around music. Simply select your favourite genre and the jukebox will play a curated playlist handpicked by the renowned music critic Dr. Chi Chung Wong, allowing you to experience a variety of musical styles. Dr. Wong has borrowed his vinyl collection to showcase in the exhibition area, allowing music aficionados to share in this auditory celebration.

SOUTHSIDE DJ Booth

You can experience the thrill of being a DJ! In front of a colourful vinyl record installation, you can take photos while role-playing as a DJ. Every Saturday and Sunday, professional and emerging DJs from the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) will be on site, sharing the joy of music.

「VML@THE SOUTHSIDE」

It is a vinyl music experience zone supported by the Hong Kong Design Institute's (HKDI) V Music Library. Equipped with a vinyl record player, it allows the public to immerse themselves in the rich sound quality and unique charm of vinyl records. Each player features a different curated playlist, selected by HKDI Artist-in-Residence Dr. Wong Chi Chung, V Music Singer and HKDI Digital Media students. There is also a playlist by virtual singer Vi, offering an exciting exploration of vinyl's allure.

SOUTHSIDE Bazaar

Comes alive on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, offering a variety of snacks, artisanal cocktails, boutique coffee and speciality items. It's the perfect place to chill and enjoy great music while indulging in delicious treats!

The SOUTHSIDE Summer Party will feature a live performance by the renowned DJ Dr. Chi Chung Wong and the Cantonese music label Cantomania, who will be bringing vibrant beats that fans of pop music definitely shouldn't miss!

Dr. Chi Chung Wong will be hosting his radio show, Chi Chung's Choice, live on site. Popular singers Feanna Wong (19 July) and Cath Wong (26 July) are invited to join us and discuss their stories and inspirations behind their music.
